Who are We?
Bare Arms was formed by two serving military officers, one Army and one Royal Air Force, who both had a passion for film and a desire to see military stories portrayed more accurately on screen. They met by chance in-between various overseas deployments and promised to meet back up “after the war”. Now, a decade after they first met, Bare Arms has grown into a multi-faceted company providing a variety of linked services to the theatrical industries, in front and behind the camera. We have a team of a dozen regular advisers and armourers, and a book of 100+ highly trained specialist performers who work in high-end TV and film, theatre productions and AAA+ video games.
In 2017 Bare Arms started training actors with firearms after being concerned that weapon handling across the industry was below the standard expected. Performers had no credible place to find high-quality training that wasn’t prohibitively expensive, so we set out to create an affordable option that encouraged students to come and learn to be safe with firearms. We’ve trained everyone from Hollywood A-listers and Marvel actors, to former Olympians and National Geographic film crews, but our real passion is training those who are just starting out in their careers. We are now the UK industry’s leading firearms training provider and proud to be helping champion the cause of safer sets for everyone involved.
As well as being represented by the brilliant Loop Talent, we are members of the Production Guild of Great Britain and the Armed Forces Covenant, supporting those across the industry and the armed forces.
