Theatrical Firearms Course:
Level 1 - BASIC
The Bare Arms TFCs are the very best way for actors and performers to learn about the safe handling of firearms.

The Level 1: Basic Course is the first level in training with Bare Arms and it explains all the fundamentals that are required for safe competent handling of firearms. On the course students train using real firearms with live full-bore rounds, which we believe is the most effective method of teaching possible. From the very beginning it instils a safe and professional mindset in performers as well as giving them a realistic understanding of how stance and body mechanics affect recoil and accuracy.
Once you have completed the Basic course to a safe standard, you can then unlock further training at one of our sites around the UK, such as our Level 2: Advanced Course focusing on teamwork and various specific day long workshops. The courses are aimed at professional performers, but are also available to crew. All practical lessons can be filmed where it doesn’t interfere with safety, in order to provide students with showreel material.
For performers who have little to no firearms experience, the Level 1 Basic TFC is the best and most cost effective way to learn the fundamentals of safe firearms handling. Since 2017, we have been running these courses in order to improve firearms safety and awareness within the industry. We have deliberately kept the costs as low as possible to ensure that quality training is available to everyone regardless of budget. At £450 for three days, it represents incredible value.
The Basic course is a three day residential course run at The Tunnel range complex in Charmouth Dorset. It is accessible by train and car and the course starts mid morning on the first day to allow students time to arrive. An optional accommodation and food package is available at the fantastically unique Monkton Wyld Court, less than a mile away. Additional nights before and at the end of the course are available for those travelling long distances.
